Phare, the Cambodian Circus, is much more than a circus , it is a powerful social enterprise that transforms the lives of young Cambodian artists. Founded by graduates of the Phare Ponleu Selpak school in Battambang, the circus provides professional opportunities for performers who have overcome tremendous hardship, turning personal stories into breathtaking art.

Each show is a mesmerizing blend of acrobatics, theater, dance, original live music, and storytelling. The performances tackle powerful themes drawn from Cambodian history, folklore, and everyday life , from the trauma of the Khmer Rouge era to the humor and resilience of modern Cambodia. The energy of the young performers is absolutely captivating.

Shows run nightly under the big top near the Angkor night market area. Villa Agati is happy to arrange your tickets and round-trip tuk-tuk transport so you can simply sit back and enjoy the evening.
